A Philanthropist. the Chairman of Goddosky International FC and the Chief Executive Officer of Oga ndi Oga foundation, Chief Eloka Godwin Agbasimelo, in response to the Federal Government call for all hands to be on deck to curtail the spread of Coronavirus, has distributed 70,000 bags of Ten kilogram bags of Rice and other food items to 18 LGAs in Anambra State.
Chief Eloka Godwin Agbasimelo while handing over the Bags of Rice and other food items to the representatives of the different local governments in his home town, Ezinifite in Nnewi South LGA Anambra State said the gesture was geared towards complementing government’s efforts at mitigating the impact of the lock-down following the novel Coronavirus, outbreak
“This is also our own little way of supporting government’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19, which has continued to ravage the world. “The items will only be given at the grassroots to the vulnerable, homeless and indigent beggars.”
“This is not just what we are starting today, we have been doing it before and we would continue to do more. We can assure you that the remaining Three Local Governments will get theirs very soon. As you know we have Twenty-One Local Governments in this State and this is just for Eighteen.”
He called on Nigerians to comply with the Stay at Home and Stay Safe directives to curb the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus, while advising Nigerians to adhere to the social distancing, washing of hands regularly, and no touching of face rules, for healthy living and fight against spread of COVID-19.
The Coordinator of Oga ndi Oga foundation, Chief Engr Echezona Uzoka was there to do the distribution in line with what the Chairman of Oga ndi Oga foundation and Goddosky International FC, Chief Eloka Godwin Agbasimelo has been doing to touch the lives of the people living in Anambra state and beyond.
Chief Uzoka said that the foundation was out not only to help prevent and curtail spread of the virus but also to reduce the hardship occasioned by the partial lockdown which according to her, is near total in the state.
He further said the chairman will continue to help people as it is a commitment he has decided to see to the end.
“This trying period occasioned by the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic demands the cooperation of all and sundry especially the well-to-do individuals and organizations to compliment government’s containment efforts of the deadly disease.”
