EID’ MAULUD: CAN ADVISES MUSLIMS TO EMULATE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W)

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State Chapter has called on Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) by being godly in characters and in their relationship with non-Muslims.

CAN in a statement signed on Monday in Ibadan by its State Chairman, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu, to commemorate with the Muslim throughout the world as they celebrate Eid’ Moluud, the birth of Prophet Muhammed.

“As Muslims all over the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed today, I want everyone to pick a lesson from it, Prophet is not just being celebrated every year because he was a leader of a religious group but because he made great sacrifices while alive to register his love in the heart of his creator through obedience to the rules and commandment of God,” Pastor Akanmu stated.

“Everyone must embrace humility, which, is the only way we can be conscious of our own nothingness and enables us to esteem others better than ourselves. It is not that the person with lowliness of mind thinks less of himself; he just thinks less about himself. He continually thinks of God and others first and this is what is expected of us all”

“Muslims must practice forbearance in love. Bearing with one another in love—that is, making allowance for the faults and failures of others, or differing personalities, abilities, and temperaments. And it is not a question of maintaining a façade of courtesy while inwardly seething with resentment. It means positive love to those who irritate, disturb, or embarrass.”

“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.”

Pastor Akanmu praised Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland for his leadership quality and commitment to peace and stability of Yorubaland. “Let me also mention one important thing here, every Muslim must emulate Aare Musulumi in relating with fellow human beings regardless of their religion or political affiliate. Aare has been so wonderful, he embraces everyone without discrimination and always striving to ensure peace reign in Yorubaland,” Pastor Akanmu added.
