Former Super Eagles Coordinator Want SWAN To Champion Sports  Revival In Nigeria

Director, General Services of the National Youth Service Corps Emmanuel Attah has charged members of the FCT chapter of sports writers Association of Nigeria to champion the revival of sports in Nigeria even as he pledged to support the annual SWAN week

Attah who made this remark while presenting trophies, balls and cash to the association in his office in Abuja on Wednesday said our sports like the SWAN week has declined in recent years and needed to be revived.

The former Super Eagles coordinator when Nigeria won the AFCON in 2013 and qualified for the world cup in Brazil disclosed that his donations were in his capacity as a friend of SWAN

“I want you to use these items as a springboard to reviving your swan week competitions and for you to help in the development of sports in the country. All hands must be on deck to regain our lost glories” the former youth international footballer stated.

Responding, the chairman of the association, Comrade Bunmi Haruna thanked Mr. Attah for his kind gesture and acknowledge his contributions to the development of sports in the territory and Nigeria at large.

According to him, ” You have contributed so much to sports especially football and we can’t forget in a hurry your contributions during the exploits of the Super Eagles on their way to 2013 AFCON victory in South Africa.”

“We want to commend you, Late Stephen Okechukwu Keshi and the crew for the wonderful job you did for Nigeria. You have also been supportive to our members and myself right from when I served with you as a Corp member,” he concluded.

It would be recalled that Mr. Emmanuel Attah did not only present a trophy to the Association when he was FCT FA but also provided football pitch, balls and other incentives to encourage the sports writers in the past.
