Founder of Cornerstone Football Club Ibadan Prophet MKO Ibikunle, has revealed his journey into football speaking in a chat with Olayinka Elebute, the man of God told Gongnews.net that he never knew anything about football and he does not even watch football but God just told me to start a football team and here I am 10 years after enjoying football game.
In his words ” ten years ago I don’t know anything about football but God told me to start a football team and I don’t even know what to do but since he want me to me to do it he just keep bringing people who will help make the journey into football and club management much easier for me and the club and here we are playing our first season in the NLO play off” he said.
According to the Shepherd Celestial Church of Christ Cornerstone Parish Ibadan, “we also have the under age teams, the U-13, U-15, the U17 teams as well as the main team which participated in the last NLO play off and the team never disappointed me with their display coming third after known teams like 3SC junior team and Ilaji football club and I know that we will get better in the future and possibly get promoted into the NNL some days”. he continue.
And finally, “for me I am grateful for those that have been working with the team from inception till now. All the coaching crew and the backroom staffs who have been working tirelessly to see the vision blossom and who are still working hard to ensure that the journey has been wonderful for Cornerstone Football Club I say thank you all” concluded the man of God.
