GOSPEL MUSIC HEALS AND DELIVERS -EMEKA NELSON

Okpukpu  Chukwemeka Nelson, popularly known as Emeka Nelson believes that gospel music has the capability and capacity to  deliver and heal the broken heart; a vital ingredient lacking in secular music.

The Port Harcourt based gospel artiste who recently released his debut single titled: No One Else like You, said he got the inspiration from God during the lockdown period.

“During lockdown, a lot of people were affected with millions losing their jobs and loved ones because of Covid 19. Businesses were shut down globally and a lot of people were depressed.I felt the pain and the Holy Spirit dropped it in my spirit that God remains God despite the situation.I began singing it and I immediately felt peace within me. Those around were blessed and I decided to hit the studio.” Nelson said.

While sharing his views on the industry, the singer said Nigerian gospel artistes are working very hard and all they need is better platforms to promote their music.

The singer however shares optimism that the future of gospel music is bright in Nigeria.

“I think that future of gospel music is great especially in Nigeria because more gospel singers are waxing strong.Again, gospel songs stand out in terms of lyrical content and message.”

Nelson added that he started music at a young age with his church choir where he played various musical instruments.

He asked his fans to be patient as his album will be dropping in 2021.
