Ogun State Governor  Dapo Abiodun has visited the family of Kazeem Tiamiyu late players of Remo Stars who was killed by Nigeria police SAR officer the Governor who promised to bring the cultprit to justice and ensure that justice is done.

 

Speaking with the family of the deceased the Governor who spoke in solemn voice told the family that the issues has gone beyond the state as the President Muhammad Buhari and Vice President Prof. Yemi Osibajo are also aware of burning issues and what went wrong in Sagamu yesterday when the angry youth took to the street were several people were reportedly killed in a violence.

 

The Governor in his words trying to console the family of the late players said “the unfortunate incident that happened on Saturday, though it sad, God gives life and me takes life and I don’t have a doubt that God allows this for a reason. He said.

“I want to assure you we will leave not stone  unturned to investigate the root cause of the problem, yesterday my SSG and Otunba Gbenga Daniel was at the Akarigbo Palace, but some bad elements wanted to use the opportunity to do evil”

The Policemen who were involved were not part of the Ogun State Police Command but they are men of the Zonal Intervention Force  and I have instructed the Commissioner of Police to arrest those invoked

 

I have received Calls from The President of the Federation President Muhammad Buhari and the Vice president Prof. Yemi Osibajo regarding this issues so there is no way the case will not be investigated at the highest level and I want to assure you this incident will be the last times it will happen in this part of the world,  the Governor assured Tiamiyu family.

 

He however concluded by extolling the virtue of Tiamiyu Kazeem, saying ” it is not easy losing a child especially a rising star, like your son a committed and dedicated player who would have made big impart playing the game beyond the state and Nigeria but God knows best” he concluded.

 

Speaking on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police  Peter Ogunyonwo, said though it sad but true that the death of Tiamiyu has made it possible for the IG to approve the scrapping of Zonal offices of SARs in the country and he however expressed his displeasure that the people saddle with the responsibility of protecting lives are now responsible for taking it.

 

Your son though in his death  has not die as an unsung hero in Sagamu, but it has helped in  one way to put an end to a lot of what has been happening in the past. His death has brought together the various community leaders, youth leader and opinion leaders in the state while assuring the family that case will be followed to the later and he also informed the that officers involved had been relieved of their duty but call on the family to help with necessary information as they we be called upon in due time.

 

While responding Tiamiyu mother who made it known to the Governor that she a prominent politician in the town that most Police knew her for the role she usually play during the  festive season,  said her son was never a yahoo boy and that constantly the SARs officer have been a constant embarrassments to Tiamiyu when he was alive that he always call her or the father most times and she wondered why they never allowed him to call his family before the unfortunate incident happens
