Hon. Kwande Reveals Reason For Dumping APC

… I Did Not Dump APC Because Of Muslim-Muslim Ticket He Revealed

A founding member of APC in Nigeria and Plateau Hon Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande has officially dumped the party citing several injustice done to him over the past four years.

According to him in one of his letter to the chairman of the party and  his wards Jenta Adamu in Jos.
He further expressed his disappointment at the way he was treated after losing the seat in 2019.
Saying, “It is sad that as a founding member of the party, I do not feel I belong anymore and it seems that the party has no reward system for those outside the corridor of power”, he said.
While explaining further,  “I want to state clearly that since I lost my primary election in 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari convened a meeting with serving members of the House of Representatives who lost the opportunity to return to their seats and persuaded with us to remained in the party and work for his victory with a pledged that everybody would be carried along, unfortunately we were not considered after the victory but this could be due to the hectic nature of his office”.
It will also be recalled that I contested the party’s primary for the bye-election when the seat was declared vacant by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) due to the death of my successor and  I won convincingly but I was denied my victory by the powers that be on the Plateau.
According to him, the Chairman of the primary election committee ordered for a rerun and changed the venue to an unsuitable ground which i boycotted in the interest of peace and love for God and humanity when it became clear that they will not give me victory even if I still win the rerun because they desperately wanted to deliver their anointed candidate and also frustrate my effort to return the party status, but I remained committed to the course of the party without bitterness and acrimony and our party lost out eventually to Musa Agah of the PDP.
Like a dogged warrior from the Plateau,  during the last party primaries for the 2023 election I thought  the party has learned its lessons and it would provide a level playing ground for all aspirants.
I consulted widely with critical stakeholders in the party and there were assurances that a level playing ground would be observed, that encouraged me to joint the race to re-contest under the APC for the seat but I noticed shortly before the commencement of the primaries that nothing had change and that they had their preferred candidate which compelled me to withdraw in view of what transpired during the bye-election, those power that be still failed to yield to call and aspiration of the people.
Though I am leaving with a heavy heart, I want to wish all the party flagbearer, especially H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and  Dr. Nentawe Yiltwalda, who I both hold in high esteem best of luck ahead of the 2023  general elections. He wrote.
He also revealed that his dumping the party as been insinuated in some quarters that the choice of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Muslim-Muslim ticket was part of the reason for leaving,
” For me I think it is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, choice to choose who can help him and the party win 2023 general elections and I am not leaving because of that singular act. I just want to step up in my quest for a better future which I will reveal in the soon and I want to wish the party and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu well in 2023.” he concluded.
One of his adent follower also wrote on his wall about the several injustice done to him, according to Lawrence Zongo.
“It is time to come out and say the truth and be free from political slavery, hardship, and fake promises that led to human rights abuses and violations without Justice for the vulnerable.
APC is never a political party that stands for all and is not progressive, a political party that celebrates injustice than Justice.”  He said
Writing further, Mr. Zongo also revealed.
“The injustice that was done to My leader and Principal. Hon. Dr. Sulieman Yahaya-Kwande during the 2022 by-election and 2023 APC Primaries of Bassa/ Federal Constituency, the primaries were never free and fair election and that was a clear indication that the party is more selective than elective, celebrates injustice than justice.”
Concluding, I withdraw my support to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) as well my supporters. I feel relieved to say goodbye to the most failed political party in the country to follow the good leadership style of my boss, Kwande. He wrote.
It will be recalled that  2 term House of Rep member Hon. Kwande together with Deputy Speaker  Ahmed Idris Wase, Former Chairman of the party in Plateau Later Dabang and current Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong were the founding member of the party in the state.
