Northern Emancipation Network (NEN) has directed officials of its Kaduna State chapter to tip Dr. Muhammad Sani Bello, the current Financial Controller for ECOWAS Institutions for the 2019 governorship in the state.

Announcing the decision in Kaduna at the end of its zonal consultative meeting on Tuesday, the group’s Coordinator, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, said the move became necessary in view of the glaring failure of the Nasir el-Rufai government to live up to its campaign promises.

The group highlighted a number of sectors in which it said el-Rufai has failed to make any meaningful improvement.

The sectors, according to Suleiman, include education, youth and rural development.

“After assessing the situation, NEN has come to the inevitable conclusion that Kaduna needs a change of leadership to save it from the present stagnation, ” Suleiman said.

He said after further careful assessment of likely replacements, the group arrived at Dr Bello, the Mainan Zazzau whom it said, is amply qualified to lead the state out of its present decay.

“Apart from possessing an impressive CV, Bello also has a record for tolerance, humility, foresight coupled with proven integrity, honesty and experience,” Suleiman emphasized.

“I am sure even a blind man would be impressed by Bello’s CV part of which shows he has been holding the office of the Financial Controller of ECOWAS Institutions at the Economic Community of West African States – ECOWAS for the last 2 years 8 months.
