Kaduna Athletic Boss Kicks Against Zonal Election, May Head To Court

Kaduna State Athletics Association Chairman Kaduna Athletics Association,  Mohammed Shuaibu, has condemned the iregularties and abnomalies that occured during the zonal level of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria AFN election in Kaduna.

Although he described the AFN elections held in Abuja earlier this month as free, fair and credible he was sad that the zonal elction which produced Hon was illegal was fraudulent and illegal.

He said so many things that were good for the system happened during the zonal election in Kaduna on June 11th when all the zonal elections were held.

Shiaibu disclosed : ” Almost all the zones had complaint. The one I can explain vividly was the was the one that happened in my zone Kaduna.

I was the chairman duly elected by our management and was given letter of appointment by the State Ministry.

” But less that 12 hours to the election the name of another person called Hon Yusuf Liman emerged as the zonal representaive through the Zonal Director.

He said when he raised eyebrow the director and the officials of the State Ministry called him into a meeting trying to supress and threathen him.

Shuaibu later said his last option may be to go to court as he was even intimidated even after the elections in Abuja.

He said he taught an independent body would have been sent by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to conduct the elections at the zonal level.

“All the zonal elections were ruse. AFN with their power suppressed all the complaints and the not conduct a proper elections at the zonal level. If you go to all the zones he will get their complaints, ” he added.
