Mohammed Mailantarki, owner of Mailantarki Football Academy and Football Club, has reiterated his plans to contribute to the development of football and to also take the youths off the street.

Mailantarki made this known in an interview with newsmen.

According to him, promoting football development is his own way of giving back to the society.

“The motivating factor for me is to give back to the society and to also engage our youths productively”.

“The youths played a key role in my emergence as a member of the House of Assembly, this is my little way of rewarding them for their support,” he said.

He further explained other motives behind his action.

“We want to change the narratives because we believe we have the Ronaldos, Messi in the North and we want to give them the next support”.

“We are not looking at making profit, we believe it will be profitable at the long run,” he said.

The FC Boss did not pretend about his feelings on the recent team’s performance.

“I am very happy with the success of my team, we care about the future of the youth as it is stated in our name”.

Muhammed also revealed the reason behind the appointment of former Golden Eaglets coach to tutor the team.

“Manu Garba is my brother we hailed from the same place, I called him to explain the vision to him and how I will be willing to invest my resources.

“We need his technical know-how and experience in other to give back to the society.

“The Club has succeeded in almost everything we are doing, we were able to gain promotion to the NNL from the Amateur league”.

“We are also the only team in the world to win the Dana Cup in Denmark and also the Norway Cup in Norway in the same year,” he added.

Mohammed Mailantarki also posited that the project was not about his Gubernatorial ambition.

“Primarily, it is not about my political ambition, they have already supported me, It is part of giving back to the society, it is now left to the people to decide wether I am committed to their development or not,” he said.

He added that he was currently putting up a structure, a sports complex with a standard football pitch while the club will be plying their trade in the NNL in the new season.
