Manchester United are ready to fork out the sum of £15m pounds about ₦6.4b to sign Odion Ighalo on a permanent deal with his current loan deal due to expire on May 31st.

The former Watford man joined the Red Devils on loan last January from Chinese Super Club outfit Shanghai.

And the Shanghai side have placed a ₦6.4bn tag on Ighalo with United ready to pay that amount since the Chinese club did not ask for a loan fee on the current deal.

According to the Dailymail, United are willing to speak with Shanghai over the option of extending the loan, but a permanent deal looks to be the likely option.

The loan deal he signed runs out by May 31, and with the league set to extend till June, United are willing to pay ₦6.4bn to sign him permanently.

Ighalo 30 has been a revelation since he joined the Old Trafford outfit, scoring four goals in eight matches.

His performance has relieved pressure on Solskjaer after the Red Devils had scoring problems with regulars Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial ruled out by injuries.

However, with the Premier League currently on a suspension until April 30 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, Ighalo will have just one month left by the time the league resume.

Reports even claims that United may line a two year contract for Ighalo which would help the club repose the lost confidence in its supporters.

The former Nigerian international’s form at Old Trafford has presently been a huge factor in Solskjaer’s squad.
