Move closer to God in 2017 – Special Apostle J. O. Daniel

Special Church services were held throughout the World Sunday to mark the first Sunday of the year 2017. Christians trooped out in large numbers to give glory to God for His protection to witness the New year.

In Ilorin, Nigerians have again been charged to always thank God in all circumstances for His mercy and protection on the people.

The Chairman of the Ilorin District of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Special Apostle Joseph Ojo Daniel gave the charge in his sermon. Special Apostle Daniel who called on Nigerians to move closer to God in the new year urged the people not to relent in praying for the nation.

The cleric implored the people to embrace peace and always work for the progress and development of the Church and the country. He called on the ‎government to address various problems affecting the nation especially as it affects the youths stressing that God will give our leaders the wisdom to lead the people right.

Special Apostle Daniel also called on the three tiers of government to give priority ‎attention to the payment of staff salary to stem the hunger in the society.

Similarly, Christians have been charged to give themselves to prayer, supplication and intercession especially in the new year at all times for the nation and our leaders.

Reverend Helen Ebun Oluwakorode of Calvary message church, Ogunsola Street ASA dam road Ilorin gave the charge in her new year message.

Reverend Oluwakorode who read from the book of Psalms chapter 37 verses 3-5 called on the people to trust in the Lord and do good.
She urged Christians to commit their ways to the Lord, stressing that nobody had a standard knowledge of what the year had in stock, but God knows.

Reverend Oluwakorode, urged Nigerian populace to pray for the nation’s leaders as commanded in the Bible believing that our sincerity in prayers will reverse evil and bring peace and tranquility to the country.

Speaking on the theme: “A Generation without God” Reverend Joseph Agboluaje described the year 2017 as a year of total restoration to individual and country as a whole.

Reverend Agboluaje called on Christians and the people to seek God the more and to obey all divine orders for restoration to take place.

The cleric noted that a generation that will experience total restoration will put God first in all things. The General Overseer of the New Life Holy Trinity Chapel Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin, Pastor ldowu Costain implored faithfuls to show love to their neighbours through sharing what they have with others stressing that this would enable them to have sense of belonging with their counterparts.

Also in his sermon, Most Senior Apostle Rufus Olubuse of C & S Sure foundation along Asa-dam llorin charged those in position of authority to rule with the fear of God in whatever they do for divine intervention.

In his sermon, titled “Dividends of Holy Living” Reverend Love Adebiyi of ECWA Chapel, Ilorin called on the people to live in ways that pleases God to receive abundant blessing from the Almighty.

Reverend Adebiyi urged the believers to shun all forms of ungodliness adding that the nation will survive the current economic recession if both the leaders and led resort to please God and seek his face in prayer this year.

Also, the need for Nigerians irrespective of religion and status to be hopeful and steadfast in prayer in the new year was again been stressed.

Pastor Samuel Sunday Ojo of Christ Apostolic Church CAC great Commission, Osere Area Ilorin stated in his new year message.

According to Pastor Ojo, despite the recent economic predicament in the country, Nigerians need to praise God at all times in order to receive more blessing, adding that when ever there is going to be a transition some thing must happened.

He urged Christians to abide with the will of God and allow Him to take control of their life.
