Former Sydney Olympics 4x400m gold medallist, Sunday Bada, will be severally cloned amongst the youths and children in Kogi state, this is an assurance I have committed myself to and promise the people who elected my husband as the governor of the state.

These were the words of Barrister Amina Bello, wife of the Kogi state governor, when she received a delegation of the Nigeria Olympic Fund who paid her a courtesy visit in Abuja.

The CEO of the project, Mr. Olajide Fashikun, told the wife of the Executive Governor of Kogi state, Barrister Amina Bello, that her choice to lead the project, named after the cerebral former senior police officer who hails from Ogidi in the state was conscious and deliberate.

“Nigerian kids in Kogi state are in for good nurturing and proper harnessing of their talents by the time the project kicks off. We require six schools, one primary and one secondary in every senatorial district as our centres for development and an all comers centre in Lokoja.”

Mr. Fashikun regretted the plight of the Nigerian athlete and kids in the area of talent nurturing and harnessing. He stated that, the time has come for former athletes to come out and save the Nigerian sporting sector, the reason him and other 10 former internationals came up with the project.
