Nigerian Female Volleyballers Depart For African Championship In Rwanda

The Chairman Caretaker Committee of Nigeria Volleyball Federation Engr. Musa Nimrod has declared that his aim in life is to see Nigeria’s youth excel in their various  endeavour.especially in sports.

He stated this when 12 Nigerian women volleyball team and officials left Abuja on Thursday for the 2021 African Volleyball Championships holding in Kigali, Rwanda.

Why speaking on his next line of action regarding his desire to continue as the federation president and his willingness to contest for the  forthcoming Sports Federation Elections slated for September 30th?

He responded, “Election is not an issue to me, I am not yet declaring because that is not paramount to me now, what Paramount to me is the big assignment, I have to do, and the big assignment is to see Nigerian youth growing and glowing with success.

“What is paramount is the growth of Volleyball, as we speak, we still have an under 18 tournament that will be coming up in Mexico and that is very paramount to me and we have to scale through.

“So, the election is not an issue to me, I may decide to run and I may decide not to contest.

“My aim is to achieve what God has put into my hand to do for this nation Nigeria and that is what I am doing.

“To serve God and humanity, is my major aim, is not a position that is my target, I am not interested in the position but I am interested to help the youth of this nation Nigeria.

“Therefore, the player’s growth is what is paramount to me and I pray that God will help them.”

Speaking on his team preparation, Coach Samuel ajayi, we have been in camp for the past three weeks preparing for the nation cup, and we have trained hard and have  impacted what it’s expected to the teams for them to excel.

“I thank the Federation and the Caretaker Engr. Musa Nimrod for all the  necessary things that he has done for the team and I believe we will make Nigeria proud as we journey to Kigali.

The caretaker chairman have tried  without Government funds and I believe we will put in our best to make the nation proud and also to appreciate his unflinching support and love for the game of Volleyball in  Nigeria, he said.

“To the best of my knowledge we pick selected players from the last premier league from Ilorin that were selected about 24 players to the camp but now we selected 12 players  that we are taken to tournament, we believe we will do our  best to make the country proud, he enthused.
