OBIANO ANNOUNCES ANAMBRA STATE OWN FOOTBALL CLUBS

In line with the agenda of “Project Elevate Anambra Football” an agenda set to be achieved by the newly inaugurated Anambra State Football Association Caretaker Committee, the Executive Governor Anambra State His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano announced the Anambra State Own football clubs, which he called Anambra Bombers (Male Club) and Anambra Babes (Female Club).

Governor Obinao made this known when the newly inaugurated Anambra state Football Association Caretaker Committee, led by Dr Emeka Okeke (Chairman) paid him a courtesy visit at Governor’s lodge at Onitsha.

Goveernor Obiano congratulated the newly caretaker committee and assured them of Anambra State Government Support.

The Governor charged the Committee to ensure that football lovers, and as well as youths who are interested in playing football are carried along.

In his speech, the chairman Caretaker Committee Dr Emeka Okeke unveiled the Committee agenda which they tilted “Project Elevate Anambra Football”.

He said that the agenda is targeted at developing grassroot football in Anambra state.

While thanking the Governor for his support, and finding it worthy to create Female Football Club in Anambra State(Anambra Babes), he informed the Governor that Anambra FA now has a befitting office complex that situates at Udoka  estate, Awka, and a branded Bus, all donated by him to ensure a smooth sail in Anambra Football.

He also informed the Governor that work will commense next week at Awka township Stadium which was abandoned by the past administration.

In his vote of thanks, Anambra State Sports Veteran, and Vice Chairman Anambra State football Caretaker Committee, Sir Victor Nwangwu, thanked his Excellency for his warm reception, and assured him that the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee will rewrite football stories in Anambra State.

He further plead with the Governor to continue supporting Football, and sports activities in Anambra State.

Sir Nwangwu ended his vote of thanks with prayers that God will continue to protect and bless Governor Obiano.
