Ocheho Hope For More Sponsorship In Handball Federation

President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Sam Ocheho on Monday said he hopes for sponsorships in Handball Federation.

Ocheho told Journalists in Abuja that they signed five years sponsorhip with Prudent Energy adding that they have spent four years as part of the agreement years.

” The game of handball has moved forward and we can record great achievement since we started partnering with Prudent Energy.

” We signed five years sponsorship and we are on the fourth year next year will be the fifth year.

“My my own assessment so far I think we have done so very well with regards to the organization of the league and the visibility we could given to prudent energy.

“I believe that prudent energy by the time they access it themselves they will also see the facts that they have done well for the company.

” I hope and believe that we will get a roll over from the sponsorship,” the Federation president said.

The president said his assessment from the ongoing 2021 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League ,the Federation have achieved greatly in the quest to develop the sports.

” The competition have been great and wonderful, what I have seen doing here, is touch notch uptill this moment.

“The games are very competitive ,we have two days to the end of the championship we still don’t have a clear winner even at the bottom you don’t know clearly which teams will go on relegation,

“At the middle of the table they are still turning which is significantly better than what it’s have been in the previous editions.

“What I am seeing is that teams are getting stronger, thier games are getting tougher, more teams are showing more skills at this tournament,” he said.

He said constant Championship have been helping the Federation to get players in the national team.

“It has developed the national team prior to now players and teams were not able to attend the championship but over the last four years it has been consistent.

“They have gone for this Championships,we have organized, all our championship from the Division One to premier league up to the the festival.

‘We able to make players have been more busy which also help with the national team,” he said.

He said federation as reduced the age players in the senior national

“We have done our best to reduce the average age of the national team and so it’s showing in everything we are doing and how everything is going

“We are getting better, at the 2018 Nations Cup,we came second to the last , in the last the last edition we bearly miss the quarter final,we got to the second round .

” We are going for the nations cup again in January and I believe that our performance will be better than what it was in the previous time.

“January is around the corner, we are going to do map preparation and We hope to start full scale camping on the third week of this month.

“Players will be in camp till the championship in January, ” the president added.

2022 African Men’s Handball Championship will be the 25th edition of the African Men’s Handball Championship from Jan. 13 to Jan. 23 in Morocco
