Plateau FA Election: Board Members Stage A Palace Coup Against Incumbent Chairman Sunday Longbap

Unexpectedly six out of the 8 executive committee members of the Plateau Football Association (PFA) have passed a vote of no confidence on its Chairman Sunday Samson Longbap.

 

According to a reliable sources passing the vote of no confidence, the aggrieved members said they demanded for an emergency meeting of the executives to deliberate on pressing issues regarding the upcoming state elective Congress and the embattled chairman refusal to call for a meeting.Spokesman for the group, Habu Pakwai Patrick said the guidelines for the upcoming state elective Congress was unilaterally drawn up by the troubled Chairman Sunday Samson Longbap, in contravention of the PFA statutes.

The aggrieved members called on the First Vice Chairman of the PFA, Ezra Godit to take over the duties of the Chairman until further notice.

In a press statement read out to journalists and signed by the six aggrieved members, insubordination and blatant disregard to the Nigerian Football Federation’s directives.

The quorum thereafter called on Samson Longbap to ‘step aside’.

The signatories to the vote of no confidence are Ezra Godit, the 1st Vice Chairman, and board members Peter Lenge Ret, Jonah Maren Mafwalul, Habu Pakwai Patrick, Salihu Mohammed, and Choji Emmanuel Gyang.
