We Respect Every Team But We Have Our Target… Obeta

By Our Reporter

As the South-East Zonal U-17 NPFL Youth League champions, Rangers International F.C kick start their journey towards becoming the national champions with a game against their opponents, Katsina United this afternoon in the ancient city of Benin, head coach, Basil Obeta, has stated that his team respects other teams in the competition but have their eyes on being crowned champions.

Coach Obeta in a chat after his ward’s final preparation games against Nsukka and Oji-River selected sides, is optimistic of overcoming the challenges expected from the other teams in running for the inaugural title of the NPFL U-17 Youth League.

“We know what is at stake and have prepared well for the championship. We respect our opponents but we have a target to achieve in Benin. With a 6-1 over Nsukka Selected and a 5-0 win over the Oji-River side, the boys are ready to go and with some luck, we shall deliver the goods,” stated the experienced tactician.

Rangers will be counting on the goal-scoring prowess of its captain, Chimobi Igwilo, the fleet-footed Friday Okacha and Michael Kigsley, with the solid presence of the quartet of Usoro Godwin, Osuji Udochukwu, Okwara Amarachi, and John Anietie in the middle of the pack as well as the defensive presence of Amuji Chinonso, Izunna Nwogba, and Somto Ilono to provide adequate cover for Chikee Chinedu to achieve their collective target.
