As the fierce battle for who becomes the season winner get hotter on the final day of the NPFL on going Super Six in Lagos, Rivers United captain Festus Austine has promised to deliver the first piece of silverware to the newly inaugurated governor of the state Siminalayi Fubara.
Speaking in a chat with Gongnews.net, the hard tackling defender said they are more prepared to edge out their perennial rivals for the 2023 league shield. “We have been giving everything to succeed and Enyimba will not stop us from achieving our goal and we just want to win and we want to give our governor his first gift for the continuous support they been having from the state government”. he opined

As it stands on match day 4 Enyimba leads the park with 8 points from 4 games while Rivers United retained the second spots with the same numbers of points from 4 games as well, Remo Stars are third with 6 points from 4 games Bendel Insurance whose unbeaten runs of 26 games was shattered by Rivers United on match day 4, retained the 4th position with just 3 points from 4 games played. Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars are 6th and 7th with just 2 points from 4;games played so far.

With a win defending champion Rivers United will need to overcome Enyimba challenge to be declared winners of the NPFL Super-6 2023.
