WORLD TITLE FIGHT: JOSHUA VOWS TO DEFEAT RUIZ JR

By Olayinka Elebute

Nigeria-born British heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua has vowed to show his conqueror last June, Andy Ruiz Jnr of Mexico that he is a better boxer when they meet in London in a fortnight.

Joshua who said he is determined to win back his three medals from the title holder during their rematch in Saudi Arabia on December 7 added he will show Ruiz he is a great boxer.

Ruiz stunned the world of boxing when he defeated Joshua during the Brit’s USA debut at New York’s Madison Square Garden on June 1st, but ‘AJ insists things will turn out differently in the rematch, as he will not only reclaim his belts but also show his rival how good he is.

Though Joshua admitted Ruiz is the world’s best boxer of the moment, considering he holds three of the heavyweight classes’ belts, he stressed that he just has to whip the man who dealt him his first ever defeat as a professional, in order to finally get the lofty tag of greatness he had long yearned for.

Joshua told Sky Sports: “I’m fighting the best man in the world now. I’m going to whip him, and show how great I am. They think he’s so great, so when I beat him I want everybody to bow to my feet and tell me how great I am

“I couldn’t beat Ruiz Jr before and get the credit I deserved. You saw me in the ring; I wasn’t fighting King Kong, was I? I didn’t have that mindset. Apparently I’m fighting the quickest hands and the best fighter in the division. So once I beat him I want everybody to bow to me.”
