Youth Ministry signs MoU with Halogen Group On Cyber Security

Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Halogen Security outfit as well as Flagged-off a Cyber Security competition, certification and internship that will help the country curb breaches and attacks experienced in the economy’s public, private sectors.
Signing the MoU which was jointly signed  by the Permanent Secretary of the FMYSD Mr. Ismaila Abubakar and Halogen Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Wale Adeagbo.
The Permanent Secretary said since no organisation appears immune to cyber-attacks there is need to guide against it and make it safe towards the national and economic development of the country.
According to him “Even institutions that had made significant investments in cybersecurity experienced high-profile attacks hence there is need to shield it from attacks.
“Nigeria’s National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy has identified Cyber-security as a crucial pillar in diversifying the country’s economy hence the need to protect it,” he said.
The Management of Halogen Security here present will agree with me that year 2021 was exciting in the cyber-security space both locally and internationally.

Speaking further, He said the training programme is very significant and timely because of the growing population of youth ready to offer a wide pool of talents in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that can be trained to utilize, develop and drive technological advancements for the betterment of our great nation.
Also speaking at meeting, Dr. Adeagbo said the Cyber Security will involve the Training, Competition, Certification and Internship for Nigerian Youth.
 “The training is to engage the youth on Cyber Security awareness to mitigate against Cyber-attacks and also offer a range of certification programmes in Cyber Security that may offer permanent job placements both locally and internationally for participants.
He said the Nigerian youth are expected to apply, get trained and compete for the first, second and third prize of N1 million, N650,000 and N350,000 respectively.
He added that the mode of the training will be online where up to 40,000 youth will be trained, the competition will be open to all participants and the best will be picked for the Certification.
