2022 NFF Presidency : Abba Yola Joins The Race

The Chief of Staff to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Abba Abdullahi Yola (Ciroman Yola) has officially thrown his hat into the race for the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Former Chairman Kano pillars who was at the NFF Electoral Committee Secretariat on Tuesday to purchase the form by paying the sum of 500,000 Naira as set by the committee.

The Chiroma Yola who had once contested for the position said his intention is borne out of the need to effect a positive change in the governance of football in Nigeria.

The call to get involved and change things informed my decision to contest for the president of the NFF. If one really wants to make a change then you have to be involved in the process”, he said shortly after picking up his form.

Fame for leading Kano Pillars to back to back league titles when he was chairman of the team, he also supervised the construction of the present head office of the NFF, when he served in the presidential task force under the leadership of Patrick Ekeji.

His last major involvement in the reformation of Nigerian football was his role in the NFF Reforms Committee. He headed the governance structure sub committee.
Meanwhile, the former Special Adviser to the former Director General of the National Sports Commission will on Wednesday formally declare his intention to contest for the position in a press conference at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja
