4 Nigeria Teams Qualify For Quarterfinals At The 2025 CAVB B/Volleyball U18 C’ship

 

Host nation Nigeria has secured a strong showing at the 2025 CAVB Beach Volleyball U18 Continental Championship by qualifying two teams in both the boys’ and girls’ categories for the quarterfinal stage on Tuesday, August 5.

The quarterfinal matches will be played at Jabi Lake in Abuja on Wednesday morning, starting from 10am.

In the girl’s category, Nigeria II is set to play Gambia, who beat Nigeria III in the Round of 16, while Nigeria I takes on Algeria.

Other quarterfinal matches include DR Congo vs Morocco and an all-Egyptian clash between Egypt I and Egypt II.

In the boys’ category, Nigeria I team will meet Egypt II, who sneaked into the quarterfinal after a Ghanaian player suffered injury in the Round of 16, while Nigeria II will battle against Morocco I.

The remaining quarterfinal fixtures are Egypt II vs Gambia and DR Congo vs Morocco II.

The President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, Engineer Musa Nimrod, commended both the performance and conduct of the players at the championship.

Nimrod expressed optimism that Africa will soon produce players capable of filling the significant gaps left by the current elite athletes.

He said, “I am very pleased with the performance of the players from the first day until now. What I am seeing clearly shows that Africa has immense potential, and we are capable of ruling the world stage.”

“If these athletes are properly guided by their coaches and participate regularly in competitions, we stand a real chance of dominating the sport globally very soon.”

DR Congo vs Morocco
Egypt I vs Egypt II
