40 Nigerian Referees To Undergo FIFA Member Association Referees Course In Abuja

 

Technical instructor Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Referees committee, Mohammed Adebayo Ameenu said that the FIFA Member Association Referees Course kicked off on Sunday with 40 referees participant in Abuja.

Aminu said the second course commence today and is expected to end on July 11 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium In Abuja.

He said this was inlined with what Nigeria submitted to FIFA since Dec.2023 for laying of foundation growths for the future of the referees within the country.

According to him,FIFA has approved two courses for 2024 on the demands for Nigerian referees FIFA member Association Development plans.

“ The course has two segment, one is the young talents course and the second is the elite course.

“ The objectives of the course isto institute a sustainable developmental plan.

“ This would establish a corp of talented young referees to ensure continuous growth and development of refereeing in Nigeria,” he said.

The first course had been concluded on July 5 and having age category from 19 to 24, excepts two referees that were above the age.

“ It is from that list of consistency and continuity processes that the NFF approved the lists of those that should be in this course.

“So that we would have a synergy between our own developmental strategies and those of the CAF and the FIFA,” he said.

He also noted that the Instructor ,Felix Tangawarima from Zimbabwe had a extensive partnership discussions and exchange program discussions with the young lads.

He said that the instructor advised Nigerian to sustain and retain these group of boys and girls.

“ In other to nurtured them equally and even sustain the training processes and make them see the future is bright,” he said.

The reports that at the end of the course a total of 80 would have be trained .
