In the ongoing governorship election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
However, the incumbent governor of the state and candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, prevailed in the remaining 13 LGAs.
The results of the governorship election held yesterday are being tallied by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In the early hours of Sunday, the collation process got under way at the INEC office in Osogbo, the state capital.
Vote tallies show that Adeleke won with significant disparities in local governments, where he prevailed.
