Life Camp Volleyball Club of Abuja fought hard to win 3-2 against Benue Queens of Makurdi in their last match in the ongoing women’s category of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Abuja on Saturday.
The 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Abuja which started on July 12 and is expected to end on Sunday is holding at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Life Camp VC fought hard to win the first sets 25-22 and Benue Queens equalized in the second sets and l sets respectively (25-17 ,25-21 ) they were self assured to successfully win the game.
Then, Life camp VC side struggled to snatch the fourth and fifth sets 25-14 and 15-11 to take the lead and end the game 3-2.
Meanwhile, fans at the volleyball pitch of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium were thrilled to an exciting performance by both teams.
Speaking after the match, Amara Gabriel, the captain of the Life camp VC said that they really worked hard and prepared well for the league.
“Right now, we are maintaining our fourth place in the tables standing in the women’s category.
“Our team performed excellent in the first phase of the competition.
“ we are going back to our drawing boards to check on our mistakes and correct those errors. and lapses, we will want it to repeat itself in the second phase,” she said.
She said that the team encountered some challenges like blocking, adding that the team’s defense wasn’t that good but they are going back to work on them.
“We are going to be more committed, ,determined; and we needs to remain
among the top three on the tables standing ,” she said.
Results of another matche that was played at the same venue in the Women’s category saw CNS spikers beat Anambra Queens 3-0( 25-20,25-20,25-10)
Eighteen teams are participating in the league comprising of nine male teams and nine female teams.
The 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League which started on July 12 is expected to end on July 23 at the indoor hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja
