Paris Olympic: Senator Enoh Promises prompt payment and increase of Athletes allowance

 

The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has said that his aspiration is for Team Nigeria to surpass the country’s best Olympic performance, achieved in 1996 at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris .

He made this known on Thursday during a media parley held at the Media Center of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The Minister also said that the entire 100 million naira (N100m) donated from the House of Reps. shall be spent on athletes, plus increased allowances and bonuses

He said, “My aspiration is for the nation to surpass our previous record Nigeria’s best Olympic Games performance in 1996,” Said Enoh. “We’ve been working on this goal through our preparation and arrangements, working with athletes in camp in Germany with good feedback on the progress daily.”

The minister said his open style of engaging leadership is aimed at making athletes feel valued by the country. “We want our athletes to feel appreciated and valued by our country,” he stated.

Senator Enoh insisted the financial support allocated for the athletes, which include the entire ₦100 million donation from the Federal House of Representatives will go to the athletes.

Ahletes will receive local & foreign camping allowance,and winning bonuses.which shows Senator Enoh’s commitment to transparency and support for the athletes through government’s dedication to make sure Team Nigeria’s success at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games a reality.
