NVBF Announces date For Super Cup As 2025 Season Closes

 

President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod has officially announced Jan. 31, 2026 as the date for the Nigeria Volleyball Super Cup, marking the first major event of the 2026 volleyball calendar.

Nimrod described the Nigeria Volleyball Super Cup as the curtain-raiser for a new dispensation under the newly inaugurated NVBF board.

According to him, the Nigeria Volleyball Super Cup will bring together the top three teams from the 2025 Comptroller General of Customs volleyball Premier League, alongside the teams from Division One.

He said, “This will help create a highly competitive platform to begin the 2026 season. The just recently concluded 2025 CGC volleyball Premier League, in Abuja, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), CNS Spikers and COAS Spikers finished as the top three in the women’s category.

In the men’s category, CNS Spikers, Nigeria Customs Service, and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCOS) finished in the top three positions. These teams will compete with the best from Division one at the Nigeria Volleyball Super Cup.

“All participating teams are advised to begin preparations immediately,” he said.

The NVBF President emphasised that the Super Cup on Jan.31, 2026, will officially signal the commencement of a packed volleyball calendar, with activities scheduled every month throughout the year.

He further disclosed that the Super Cup will be followed by the President’s Beach Volleyball Cup in Kaduna.

While the introduction of separate Military Armed Forces Volleyball Championship and Paramilitary Volleyball Championship beginning in 2026.

Nimrod reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to executing all planned programs in 2026, regardless of sponsorship challenges, noting that the year will also feature the African Club Championship, National Cup, Nations Cup, and qualifiers for the African Games.

He also thanking participating teams, officials, sponsors, and the Nigeria Customs Service for their continued support.

While assuring stakeholders that official invitations and program details will be communicated before the end of 2025.
