Kicker Football club of Abuja on Thursday played 0-0 with Nile University FC, in their second Group A match of the ongoing FCT FA League Division II, in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the league is taking place in three centers across the FCT.
In the match played at the Old Parade Ground football pitch, Area 10, Kicker FC played out a goalless against Nile university FC, with many scoring chances missed in the first half.
Speaking after the match, Sporting Director of Kicker FC, Dare Adesomo, told NAN that his team didn’t play badly, in spite of the loss.
“Our team dominated possession and controlled the game, but the pitch at Area 10 hindered the players ability to showcase their skills.
“In spite of the challenges, we managed to secure a draw,” he said. On his part, Nile University FC coach, Timi Ogunjimi, praised his team’s performance.
“The boys were proactive and created good chances, but we lacked clinical finishing upfront.
“I will work on our attackers finishing in the next game,” he said.
He expressed optimism about his young team’s improvement, noting that the more they play, the more they will improve.
Kicker started their campaign with a draw against Alpha FC, 2-2, while Nile University FC beat Fine Trust Football Academy 2-1 in their opening match.
They are drawn alongside Alpha FC, Fine Trust FA, Nile University FC, ACE Football Club and Chikason FC.
NAN reports that Kicker FC will face Chikason FC by 9 a.m on July 7 at Area 3 Football pitch in their next match, while Nile University FC engage Alpha FC by 11 a.m. at the same date and venue.
In other matches, Alpha FC drew 1-1 with ACE Football club, while Fine Trust FA thrash Uziah Sports 4-1.
Elsewhere at the Bwari center, Burna Boys FA beat Kehnemi FC 4-1, Arewa FC beat Diamond FC 3-2, Gozie FA lost to Wuse FC 2-3 and TTC FC drew LAZIO FCA 1-1.
