Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has revealed his desire to turn Plateau State to the hub of sports in the country.
Speaking with journalist after inspecting the on going renovation and redevelopment of the Rwang Pam Stadium Jos in company of the NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau and the State FA Chairman Prince (Dr) Hon Suleiman Yahaya Kwande And SA to NFF President Nasiru Jubril, to see the level of work by the contractor who is handling the stadium project.
The Governor Caleb Mutfwang said we decided to embark on the project in order to raise the profile of soccer in Plateau State it is our expectations that at the end of these redevelopment we will be able to host CAF and National teams matches in the stadium.
He also disclosed that Zaria Road Stadium will be completed in his own time.
According to him, “we have to start here because the Zaria Road Stadium requires more bigger attention and finances since we are not yet prepared for that we thought we should concentrate more effort on Rwang Pam Stadium”, the Governor said.
While, he admonish the contractor for the job done. “The last time I was here I was here to see the progress of work done and we admonish the contractor to accelerate the pace and I am glad that much progress has been made but we are not were we should be yet the Governor concluded.
The Governor also made it known that the stadium will be a multi purpose infrastructure were the indoor will be an all encompassing and it’s going to become meeting point to the people on the Plateau. It is expected to be completed and commission by November 2025.
