The battle lines are drawn as the final four quarter-finalists have emerged in the ongoing Abuja All Stars Veterans Invitational Tournament, wrapping up a Round of 16 stage filled with shocks, grit, and unforgettable drama.
Karu All Stars punched their ticket with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over a fearless MC Steve side — a team that simply refuses to die quietly in any competition. From the first whistle, MC Steve went for the jugular, testing Karu’s pedigree in the tournament. But in the end, Karu’s experience saw them through, dousing their opponents’ fire.
Apo Fitness Club also booked their spot after weathering a late storm from Nurudeen FC. Leading 2-1, Apo’s backline was under siege for the final 20 minutes, but they held firm, clinging on to their slender lead until the final whistle.
Over in Gwagwalada, Gwagwalada All Stars had to dig deep against a spirited Zeemichael FC — a side barely four months old but brimming with fight. The game ended 1-1 in regulation before Gwagwalada held their nerve to win 3-0 on penalties.
The most ruthless display of the round came from Likeminds All Stars of Kuje, who dismantled Games Village FC in a one-sided 4-0 demolition, underlining the gulf in class between the two sides.
