Massimo Allegri, the head coach of AC Milan, has given the green light for Nigerian U20 midfielder Victor Eletu to join the first team. This decision comes after Eletu’s impressive performances, particularly in friendly matches against Leeds United and Chelsea.
Eletu recently signed a contract extension with AC Milan, committing him to the club until at least 2027, with an option for a third year. This move showcases the club’s confidence in his abilities and potential.
As part of his new role, Eletu will train with the first team and receive more opportunities to develop his skills.
However, he will also play games with the U23 team to maintain his match fitness.
Allegri sees Eletu as a potential replacement for Luka Modric when the Croatian legend retires in two years. This highlights the significant role Eletu is expected to play in AC Milan’s future.
Before his promotion, Eletu had been making waves in the Primavera Championship, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 17 games. His talent and dedication have earned him a spot in the first team training.
Eletu’s journey with AC Milan began in 2018 when he joined the club’s youth academy. Since then, he has progressed through the ranks, showcasing his skills and potential. With this new opportunity, Eletu is poised to make a significant impact on the team and potentially become a key player in the future.
