Governor Fubara Pledges Support For Job Creation And Youth Empowerment In Rivers State

River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has pledged his administration’s unwavering support to collaborate with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) for job creation initiatives.

The Governor made this commitment during a courtesy visit from the NDE’s Director-General, Silas Agara, and his team to the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, Hon. Silas Agara, met with the River State Governor, His Excellency Fubara, and coordinators of the NDE from the South-South zone in Rivers State.

They discussed strengthening ties with the state government to ensure the Renewed Hope Empowerment Initiative benefits average Nigerians, especially those at the grassroots, by equipping them with vocational skills to boost economic development.

As part of the meeting, Governor Fubara stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between the state and the NDE, particularly focusing on the ‘Renewed Hope Empowerment Initiative.

Governor Fubara expressed commitment to ensuring that federal employment and empowerment programs effectively reach more people in Rivers State.

He recognized the vital role that the NDE plays in addressing unemployment and nurturing entrepreneurship assured Mr Agara that his administration will support the mandate of NDE to succeed River State.

During the meeting, Director-General Hon.Silas Agara outlined the various phased skills acquisition programs initiated under the NDE’s Renewed Hope Empowerment Initiative.

These initiatives aim to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them to leverage their potential and transform economic challenges into opportunities for job creation.

Hon. Agara described Governor Fubara as a digitally savvy leader,
expressing confidence in his administration’s trajectory towards empowering the youth.

He urged the state government to embrace the NDE’s mission, positioning it as a vital partner for sustainable growth and development in the region.

While in Rivers State, Hon  Agara also visited the state NDE office, where he assured the staff of his commitment to enhancing their welfare and creating a more conducive working environment.
