Soludo Re-elected Anambra Governor; Peter Obi’s Candidate came In Fourth

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Prof. Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)  winner of the Nov. 8 governorship election in Anambra with 422,664 votes.

Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, made the declaration at the commission’s headquarters in Awka on Sunday.

Chief Nichols Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 99,445 votes.

Mr Paul Chukwuma, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) secured 37,753 votes.

Peter Obi’s Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu, scored 10,576 votes, while John Nwosu, of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), polled 8,208 votes.
