Secretary General of the Nigeria Customs Service Sports Department Samuel Onikeku has expressed confidence that the forthcoming African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship will be a huge success.
Onikeku stated this at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja
“Our level of preparation have been top notch, things have been going on smoothly and we have fix all the rest room, all the toilets and we have bought in new showers and all the water system are new and we are doing renovations works there
“We have gotten good hotels, high class hotels. that are even continuously having good back up power in case of emergency that there is a little bit power failure.
Host Nigeria Customs is working day and night preparing well to welcome the African continent for the Women’s Volleyball Club Championship, with over 20 countries expected to compete for honors from April 1 to 14 in Abuja.
“The preparation is in top gear the inspection Team came from the confederation of African Volleyball they gave us about 85% pass marked.
Nigeria representative is Nigeria Custom, we have done well we are not only preparing to host and to put equipments in place and facilities but we are trying to make a good representation from our team and you know that this is a competition we have been attending since 2017 and our best position ever is fourth position in Tunisia , Kalibia, 2021. So as host the first thing we want to do is to make sure that we qualify for the semi finals and from the semi finals .
first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was named Grand Patron of the Year 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Championship to be hosted by Nigeria.
