World Athletics has finally acknowledged Consider Ekanem’s World leading performance in the 100m at an Athletics meeting held at the Navy Sports Ground in Ojo, Lagos in January.
Ekanem, trained by former African record holder, Seun Ogunkoya stormed home first in an impressive, lifetime best setting 10.10 seconds
It remains the fastest time in the world over the distance, supplanting the 10.13 Cameron’s Itoungue Bogognie ran 21 days earlier.
According to reports Ekanem’s time has finally been uploaded on World Athletics’ top list of performances for 2024 and the Nigerian is still top of the men’s 100m list some 17 days after that incredible performance that has set Nigerian athletics buffs talking about another Enoch Adegoke who raced to the top of the World list in the event in January 2021,
