The management of City Football Club of Abuja says more friendly matches have been lined up to prepare the team for the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League season.
In one of the friendly matches played on Sunday at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps Football Pitch, Sauka, Abuja, City FC defeated Dreamland FC of Umuahia 3-1.
Emmanuel Jesam scored three times for the Abuja based team while Ezekiel Umoh got a consolation for the Dreamland Academy.
Speaking in an interview after the match, chairman of City FC Chidi Okonkwo was satisfied with the performance of his players.
“It was a good match, the boys played well and I want to tell you that we are using the friendly matches to prepare out teams for the upcoming NNL season”
Mr. Okonkwo further assured that his team will try all within their power to gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
“Our target is to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League. We are trying and God will help us.
City FC narrowly missed out in their quest to gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League last season, finishing 3rd on the Nigeria National League Northern Conference log.
