City FC`s Promotion To NNL Well-Deserved, Kicker FC

 

Dare Adesomo, Head Coach of Abuja-based Division 2 side, Kicker FC says that City Football Club`s promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) is well-deserved.

Adesomo, who stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja, said their performance throughout the group stage was evident and exceptional.

“City FC is a team to reckon with, and their promotion to the NNL is well-deserved,“he said.

According to him, City FC impressed by going unbeaten in their preliminaries stage, winning all their games and maintaining an unbeaten streak.

Adesomo praised City FC’s well-structured team, featuring talented players from goalkeeper to defence, midfield, and attack.

“I believe City FC has the potential to excel in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), possibly even gaining promotion to the top-tier league next season.

“ With their talented players and complete team structure, they have a bright future ahead.

NAN reports that Kano Ambassadors, Mai Kunkele United from Niger and Warinje FC from Bauchi were also promoted to the NNL.

These teams earned their places after emerging as group champions in the recently concluded first phase of the 2025 NLO season.

The playoffs began on June 12 and ended June 22.

The NLO continues to serve as a crucial platform for grassroots talent development, offering clubs a professional pathway and fans a glimpse of Nigeria’s footballing future
