The Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday thumped Nationwide League One side, Greenlock FC of Abuja 4 goals to nil inside the mainbowl, Moshood Abiola Stadium.
With a brace coming from Chibueze, and a goal each from Aliyu Rabiu and Haruna, was all the Flying Eagles needed to stop Green Lock FC’s from demonstrating their game pattern, all the four goals came in the first half as Nigeria went blank in the second half.
The team will play their last warm up game on Tuesday before traveling to Ghana for the 2023 All African Games on Thursday, the team has played three games so far, the Ladan Bosso led boys have won two and drew one; scored nine and conceded just one goal. .
Greenlock FC Coach, Idris Bolarinwa’s tactical approach, and his attempt to alter the game plan of the Flying Eagles in the second half period of the match fail to yield much results, as the Ladan Bosso’s boys charges were resolute and repelled every attempt with so much grit and resistance.
Speaking after the game chairman of the club, Mr Olubunmi Peters was in praises of his boys performances, even as he charged them to believe more in themselves in subsequent games.
“for me I think the boys did very well, I can only see two goals that the National team scored against us, I think the boys are growing, the psyche of the beginning of the game affected them, but am sure as time goes on they will realize they need to go over this game quickly and not to allow the outcome of the match to slow them down” he said.
“They need to believe more in themselves that they are a team, and they need to continue to develop that team spirit and play together as one” He concluded.
