Former Future Eagles skipper Tobi Adeleke has officially joined Greek second-tier side Makedonikos FC on a one-year deal.
The talented left-footed midfielder, who has been tipped as one of Nigeria’s brightest prospects, arrives in Greece after an eventful spell in the Czech Republic with FK Varnsdorf and FK Banik Most. His performances caught the eye of several European clubs, but Adeleke opted for Makedonikos—believing the club offers him the right environment to continue his growth and push for greater heights.
Adeleke is no stranger to leadership and the international stage. He captained the Future Eagles—Nigeria’s U-15 national team—to multiple competitions between 2018 and 2019, including the African Youth Championship in Algeria and the prestigious World Youth Football Championship in Japan. Tobi was also part of the national U-23 team camp in 2022. His calmness on the ball, eye for a pass, and commanding presence in midfield made him one of the standout players of his generation.
The 22-year-old now looks to re-establish himself on the European stage, with his move to Greece expected to put him firmly back on the radar of Nigeria’s senior national selectors. For Adeleke, Makedonikos is not just another stop—it’s a springboard to reignite his career and stake his claim for future invitations to the Super Eagles.
With youth, talent, and international experience on his side, all eyes will be on Adeleke as he embarks on this exciting new chapter in Greece.P
