Handball: Pillars Beat Confluence Stars Records First Win

Kano Pillars defeated their opponents Confluence Stars of Kogi  to record the first win at the ongoing Prudent Energy Hand ball league in Abuja.

Kano Pillars recorded a 15-14 in the first half by only one point difference.

Confluence Stars played harder in the second but the Kano Pillars showed them their supremacy in the game and beat them 29-26 to set their first win.

Speaking after the match, the Head Coach of Kano pillars, Solomon Yola,told  journalists that he expected a win at the end of the match.

“It was good match, the first match is always a strong match, the good team from Confluence Stars ,they are good technical team but just need to play as a team Kano Pillars Standards.

” My players play as a team as Kano pillars standards, we thank God at least we won the game,” he said.
On his part, the Head coach of Confluence Stars of Kogi David Emmanuel, it’s a very good game, even though they lost their first game.

“The difference points is not much this shows that there is improvement for my team, we came up last year from division one league to the premier league.

“We were able to put ourselves together to see what we can do.We give kudos to my teams and Kano pillars.it was a good fight at the end.

“This a new development in handball for us and I think there will be progress in the next two or three matches .

In the other match played : D: Defender lost to Lagos Seasiders 21-22 while Safety Shooters defeated Plateau Vipers 22-18.
