When and not if Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins the February 25th Presidential Election , a certain group of Northern men will go down in Nigeria Political history as not only Heroes but Legends and Protector of our collective Political Commonwealth.
These men are the sitting Northern APC Governors who fought against all odds to ensure that Asiwaju does not only win but the unity of our Country is put first.
The APC has 22 Governors across the Country out of which 14 are from the North.
Out of these fourteen , ten of them started the process of ensuring no cabal in the Villa had its way to deceive President Muhammadu Buhari to keep Power in the North.
As a student of history who is from the Southern part of the Country , Abia State to be precised, I have read alot about the Political History of the Northern Nigeria but in all I have read , one thing that is scarcely associated with them is Betrayal.
And in the current Political climate , this is exactly what is being reaffirmed by these steadfast APC Northern Governors.
These Governors are standing firm on their commitment of non betrayal to ensure Power shifts to the South in the next Administration.
The Governors are staying resolute that it is totally unfair to allow power remain with them in the North after eight good years of their brother, President Buhari in Government.
Leading this team of history making Northern leaders is the Governor of Kaduna state Mallam Nasiru El Rufai, alongside Governors like Dr Ganduje of Kano, Professor Umara Zulum of Borno, Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa, Muhammad Yahaya of Gombe , Bello Metawalle of Zamfara , Simon Lalong of Plateau state and former Governor of Sokoto state, Aliyu Wamakko.
The same way people of my generation read about some of our past political Heroes , I am sure it is the same way our children and children’s children will read about these dogged Northern APC Governors, decades after we must have long gone.
These Governors did not just start supporting Asiwaju today but have long made up their minds against the selfish and greedy wishes of the so called Aso Rock cabal.
These cabal have been on a long road of failure in their attempt to stop the Presidential ambition of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
