Kwara chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and the management of www.gongnews.net, has commiserated with Mr. Toyin Saheed, over the death of his father, Alhaji Saheed Baba Alata. Toyin is the Treasurer of the association in the state. He works on the sports desk of the National Pilot newspaper in Ilorin.
The Chairman of the association, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Bibire, in a statement on Friday in Ilorin, described the demise of Baba Alata as unfortunate and shocking. Bibire prayed Almighty Allah to forgive him all his sins and grant him aljana firdous.
The statement confirmed that Baba Alata died on Friday in Ilorin at his residence aged 92, after a brief illness. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites and ceremonies.
Meanwhile, the Managing Editor of www.gongnews.net Mr Olajide Fashikun prayed that God will give the family the fortitude to mitigate the loss. He said, “baba’s death is a glorifying one. It is the children who are burying him. In this part of the world, that is always the prayer. He left children whose public and private conducts showed how great a parent he was. We are proud of his son who is a very wonderful youngman.”
He is survived by children, grand children and great grand children.
