On this issue of Sports Minister vs LMC, regardless of the Supreme Court judgement, regardless of who is in support of or against LMC, the key issue, is this:
The NFA Act (which still exists, since NFF is not a registered private organisation) gives the Sports Minister the power to issue directives to the NFA/NFF, and makes it the duty of the Board of the NFA/NFF to comply with such directives (section 19).
So, until we address this issue of the legal status and governance structure of NFA/NFF, this issue of ‘government interference’will linger.
