Upper Area Court 1, Makurdi, Benue State, has adjourned the case between Mr Dominic Iorfa, the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club, Makurdi and Honourable Tion Paul Tyover till 8th of August 2023.
Tion Paul is been sued on three count charges bordering on Defamation of character, Inciting disturbance and Cyber stalking.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), 30th June 2023, Chief Dominic Iorfa, of Lobi Stars Football Club Makurdi, came to Area Commander’s office and report that from May 2022 to date Hon Tion has been insulting him and also alleged that he (Iorfa) is responsible for the death of Late Iornyaegh Aguda.
Recall that Hon Tion on his Facebook page, 5th June 2023, reported that a Board Member of Lobi Stars Football Club, Mr Iornyagh Aguda died on June 4, 2023 at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi after a protracted illness.
According to him the ill-fated scenario occurred when the hospital facility that retained medical services for Lobi Stars was disengaged. Hon Tion further reveal that the new Vice Chairman, Iorfa who took over as the CEO of Lobi last year in March, terminated the services of the hospital that has medical history of all the staff, especially the ones with terminal illnesses. Unfortunately, he did not provide alternative medical facility to attend to staff health challenges leading to their ordeal.
However, the matter has been adjourned to 8th August 2023 for further mentioning. While sports enthusiasts are speculating shades of perspectives of the entire spectrum of the tempest rocking the Club, the litigation is not the actual ” eye in the storm”.
