Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has categorically stated that losing at home to Guinea Bissau in just one qualification game doesn’t call for him being sacked by the Nigeria Football authority.
The Portuguese promised to lead the Super Eagles to next African Nations Cup in Côte d’Ivoire while encouraging all football lovers not to fret over the defeat to Guinea Bissau.
“We lost a game and it is sad but it doesn’t warrant sacking me as we still have opportunities to qualify”.
The coach stated further that he is still the man to lead the team to the fourth title in Abidjan next year.
“We can still qualify to play in the next Nations Cup, so, should a coach who will lead the team to victory be sacked? No”.
Guinea Bissau now top the group A table with 7 points in three games while Super Eagles are placed second with 6 points in three matches. The return leg (AFCON qualifier Match-day 4) is held on Monday at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
