Monimichelle Call On Governor Sanwo-Olu To Complete Mobolaji Johnson Stadium

One of the major contractor who handle the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, popularly know as Onikan stadium Mr Ebi Egbe, has called on the Lagos state government to  complete the facilities to help raised the rating of the stadium to enable the stadium host major FIFA and CAF tournament in the future.

While speaking during the just concluded Super-6 tournament hosted by Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, said the facilities still need to be completed to enable the stadium to host bigger tournament like the CAF champions league. ” The stadium is yet to have a flood light, electronic scoreboard and other facilities that can raise to a CAF standard rated stadium.

While making a passionate appeal, “I am pleading with Lagos state government to endeavor to complete the Mobolaji Johnson Arena it’s one of the best arena in the country after Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo which is 100% grass, the pitch has played host to Aisha Buhari Cup and FIFA president Gianni Infantino  and CAF president  Joseph Mosepe, were all impressed with the facilities but if all the remaining facilities are added the stadium will get CAF approval to host top CAF games”.

The facilities has hosted top football events from the Aisha Buhari Cup, NPFL Super-6 and some of the Lagos team playing in the NNL.

Meanwhile the Super Eagles of Nigeria are currently camped in Lagos using the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium as their training base for the Nations Cup qualifiers against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Sunday.
