NASMED Honours NLO COO Ogunnowo

 

Shola Ogunnowo, Chief Operating Officer of the Nigerian third tier league, the Nationwide League One NLO, has received a prestigious award from the Nigeria Association of Sports Medicine NASMED.

The honour was bestowed upon him during the association’s 30th anniversary which took place at the Headquarters of Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa ANOCA in Abuja.

The award “Vanguard Award for Excellence in Sports Medicine Leadership” was presented to Mr. Ogunnawo who the association described as forward thinking leader who promotes and adopts SEM practices in his organization.

Nigeria Olympic Committee president Engineer Habu Gumel was also honoured during the Award and Gala night of the association.

Shola Ogunnowo is a deputy director with the Nigeria Football Federation, and he is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Nationwide League One.

 

Due to his diligence and hard-work, many people believe the Ogun State born sports administrator, Ogunnowo, will succeed the overstayed and outgoing current NFF general secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.

Under Ogunnowo’s leadership, the NLO has expanded its focus in both quality and accessibility with over 1000 young football players plying their trade in the league.

He has brought grassroots Football system in Nigeria to international standard by incorporating best practices observed globally, partnering with health firms that is ensuring the safety and well being of his players.
