Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), H.E. Silas Agara, has expressed his gratitude towards the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) for their crucial role in promoting the Directorate’s programs to the community.
Agara made this statement during a meeting with the Management of NBS at the NDE headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
The visit was particularly special, as the Executive Vice Chairman of NBS, Mallam Auwwal Salihu, led the delegation, bringing a sense of homecoming to the proceedings.
Agara, who hails from Nasarawa State, stressed the significance of this visit in representing his home state at a national level.
The discussions primarily revolved around the upcoming 3rd annual cooking competition, “Nasarawa Unity Kitchen,” themed “Our Food, Our Health: A Modern Perspective.”
This initiative aims to showcase traditional dishes from both within and outside the state, highlighting the rich sociocultural identities of the state and their neighbors.
Malam Auwwal Salihu reiterated the purpose of their visit was to explore collaborative efforts between NDE and NBS for capacity-building programs, in alignment with the Directorate’s mandate.
Reflecting on his longstanding relationship with NBS, Agara acknowledged the invaluable support from the state media in promoting NDE’s activities.
“You have supported us in numerous ways, often going the extra mile for anything related to NDE or myself. This support has made my job significantly easier and positively influenced the perception of our work among Nigerians,” Agara noted.
Agara also recognized the positive changes brought about by the appointment of Mallam Auwwal Salihu as the Executive Vice Chairman of NBS, noting the transformation in news broadcasting and program content.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for finding Mrs. Patricia Akawu worthy in character and professionalism for appointing her as General Manager of the station.
