General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation, Mohammed Sanusi said it’s sad that the nation’s team were eliminated in the first round which was as a result of the heavy defeat they suffered in the first match against Japan.
“We’re not happy, no Nigerian is happy about it. It’s a wake up call for us, to know that women football has grown beyond the usual level. If you look at what happened to Brazil and China then you’ll agree with me. We would look at what we can do to make sure this kind of thing does not happen again in future.
Our plan has always been to build up from anywhere we stop. I can tell you that some of the girls will graduate to the Super Falcons. And we would do the needful. We are looking at both the Flamingos (U-17) and Falconets (U-20) keenly.
“I don’t talk on technical matters because am an administrator. It’s the job of the technical department to evaluate the team and submit their report.
Our expectations was that they will retain the trophy. Of course, they started on a good note.
